[Scriptoris] Fundraising projects

I keep forgetting to post this topic, but here it is... 
  Some many years ago, Mstrs Rose and Geoff Cathan decided to do an experiment for a fundraiser for a Baronial Auction in Stargate, many, many years ago.  They created a matched set of original calligraphy and illuminated framed scrolls based on poems from the Song of Solomon (a his and her's set).  As I recall, the pieces were about 11x14 each, with a bit of gold leaf added to the illuminations.  
   
  The first scroll, during a competitive bidding, went for $75.00.   The second scroll, it's match, was bid for in a more heated bidding war, between the Lord, the new owner of the first scroll and another Lady; the Lady eventually won the bid for the second scroll for $80.00.   In the end, the Lady resold the second scroll for the bidding price to the Lord who purchased the first, as she could not bear to see the scrolls parted, and the Lord set them up as an anniversary gift to his Lady wife.  I've seen the scrolls on their mantel still on display, these many years hence.  Even at $155. for the matching scrolls, the bidder got a bargain; the scrolls were easily worth twice or three times that value.
   
  Last fall, Lady Carletta of Rosenfeld, decided to enter an original scroll in an auction at 3-Kings event.  She can probably tell the tale best, as I was not in attendance, but Carletta told me the scroll went for $60 or more.  Pray share the bid price, if you wish.  
   
  Now these prices many not be common, the higher prices often will come to those with the greatest skill in the scribal arts; or even if the auction cause if just and heartfelt. 
   
  I've heard some of your scribes guilds declaring that you have no funds for paints or brushes, but you have talent in your hands with the skills of calligraphy and illumination.  To gain funds for supplies and expenses, take a turn from our historic artisan masters -  
  Give away some artworks for charity and alms, present some artworks to the Crown for thy taxes, and sell the artworks made to pay for your keep!
   
  Any other ideas on fundraising using scribal arts?
