To add, original scroll work is also done at the local branch level for ceremonial documents (Champion of Shire XYZ), as well as invitations to be sent forth advising about upcoming event activities, perhaps stationary or thank you notes for the Baron and Baroness.  Many branches have their own local armigerous and non-armigerous awards which maybe in need of original scroll donations, such as the Order of the Oaks of the Steppes.  

Check with the local officers (Scribe Principal, Herald, Baron/Baroness)  for guidelines on local scrolls; not all local awards or championships use scrolls.  Some Local award texts are listed in the document Serena referred to:

Local branch original scrolls are a great way to learn how to create historical style scroll documents from scratch and develop your skill sets.
