Forwarding a set of related posts from a Heralds list, for the June KWHSS in Oregon.
Sending forward to the various KW Scribal lists, as needed.
Cheers, Hillary (Ansteorra)

Subject: [ANSTHRLD] Known World Heralds and Scribes Symposium 2010

Greetings.  Please propagate this far and wide, qas some of the
kingdom lists I was once subscribed to might disallow my post because
I've unsubscribed, I didn't have complete list info, and you probably
know better than I who should see this information.

The KWHSS website is UP: http://kwhss.sca.org/

The 'Links' link goes nowhere - it's there for future use.
The snail mail address should be up in a couple of days.Online payment
will be an option within the week.
The schedule should start trickling in by next week.
If anything seems wrong with the page, or if there are questions,
contact both the webmaster and me. I know where he sleeps (my husband)
and can keep him on task. :)  I can and will also tweak the code and
make additions when he's unavailable.
Email's a good option for me again - tierna at agora.rdrop.com
If you have my phone number, feel free to use it, and leave a message
if you get voicemail (I sleep odd hours).

Please check often. It's not inconceivable there might be updates more
than once a day while we bring our information together.

It will be 11-13 June 2010, at Pacific University, 25 miles west of
Portland, Oregon.  (I've seen a lot of event announcements that had no
mention of location and dates.)

As to why you might go:

Known World Heraldic and Scribal Symposium can be worthwhile for newer
heralds.  They need a good number of introductory classes for the
benefit of nearby people.  Also, SCA A&S events are notorious for not
making money, so they need to attract as wide a range of attendees as
possible.  So I'd expect a beginner's track at the very least.

There's a chance to hear about current issues and concerns just by
hanging around and talking at the meet-and-greets party and in the
halls, not to mention the Sovereigns of Arms "gripe session".

Laurel decision meeting on Sunday morning.

Portland, Oregon, is a lovely place to sightsee.  KWHSS often have
pre- and post-event activities and sightseeing.  Also during-event
activities for "herald widows".  In early June, the average high is in
the low 70s and the summer dry season is starting.
