Subject: KWHSS Last-Minute Scribal Opportunities

To our scribal instructors at Known World Heraldic and Scribal Symposium:
There have been some last minute changes to our event after a final meeting with the hotel.

The bad news: Our scribal classes are going to have to share space with one another, and many of them with other activities. The hotel wants to minimize what they're calling our "messy" space and so they're trying to put as many classes in one very large ballroom as possible. It means that there will likely be some audible bleedover from class to class, but at this point we can either deal with it or cancel a lot of classes. The hotel is completely booked otherwise and the room we have is the room we have. I wish I had a better solution, and I want to be up front with you that our teaching environment will not be ideal.If this is an issue with you, please let me know as soon as possible.
The good news: We've meticulously spaced out that ballroom, and have found that we will have room for two scribal classes at a time Saturday morning before noon and will be adding room for a third simultaneous class starting at 1:00 pm. There will also be plenty of room for charter painting or other scribal pursuits all day, and starting at 2:00 pm we will have access to another smaller ballroom that will fit two more simultaneous tracks. Finally, the rooms that our Sunday classes are taking place in will more than accommodate a second simultaneous track each. While I may have to move your existing class from one track to another, I will not be changing your class time unless I ask you individually if I may. We have a final schedule, I want to keep to that as much as I can, while adding bonus offerings as a last-minute addition to the event.

The bottom line: I have the potential to add up to 16 more scribal instructional hours across the entire event, and this is where you good folk come in.
I know it's last minute, and I sincerely apologize for that, but if you have another class, or perhaps two, that could run in these time slots, I would greatly appreciate it. I also know that some of you have offered to do precisely this, but to be honest, I'm a little fried mentally right now (the event is in HOW MANY DAYS??) and to save time, I'm just sending this to all of you.

If you can teach a class, please send me the following information ASAP:

* Class title
* Class description
	* Class prerequisite level (beginner, intermediate, advanced, expert) and any prerequisite knowledge needed
	* Class limitations and restrictions, if any (size, age, etc.)
	* Fees, if any
	* Equipment required (both by the student and by you as the instructor)
	* Equipment supplied (by the instructor to the student)
	* Type of class (practicum, lecture, etc. - basically need to know whether you're teaching "messy" or not)
	* First, second, and third preference for timeslot (according to the list below)
We have a time slot for "messy" classes at 1:00, 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 pm Saturday, and two slots for "messy" classes at 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 am Sunday. We also have two time slots for lecture classes at 2:00, 3:00 and 4:00 pm Saturday, and of course, lectures can take up "messy" spaces if necessary.

Please keep in mind that I will be trying to consolidate space if at all possible, so bear with me while we try to wrangle one last piece of magic out of this weekend.

Also, if you know of any other scribes that are DEFINITELY coming and would like to teach, pass this along privately and ask them to send me their Society and mundane names, their contact information, and their SCA bio as well.

I need to hear back from you no later than Tuesday at 12:00 pm Central time in order to have time to finalize the schedule, get your review of it, and get the "No, Really, We Mean It, This Really Is the Final Version of the Schedule" schedule off to be printed up for the event.

I hope the potential to add more classes to our schedule makes up for the extremely last minute shuffle, and look forward to hearing from you all soon.

Thank you all in advance for your willingness to teach what you have, and for those that wish to teach more, thank you for that as well.
In service,
Snorri Hallsson
Class Coordinator, KWHSS 2013
