SR - Ffynnon Gath Event May 29-31

     In 962 c.e., Baudouin III ,  Count of Flanders threw several LIVE cats
from his Castle tower to demonstrate that he was ot in awe of them or the
pagan ideas associated with them.  Thus was born, Kattestoet, Festival of the
Cats, which the great Shire of Ffynnon Gath reintroduced last year.
     It is now 963 C.E. and without the cats to keep the vermin in check,
great quantities of rats have infested the area.  Instead of despairing, the
good gentles oave instead decided to Revel and have announced the introduction
of a new festival...RATTESTOET!
 ( the "alas, we do miss our cats" event)

Friday-Sunday May 29-31, 1998 at the Lake wood Recreation Area outside of
Gonzales Texas. 
Come join us for  the celebration in an immaculately groomed site under a
canopy of mighty trees with electrical hookups and running water at most
campsites, showers, flush toilets, and Guadalupe River swimming access.
Alcohol in Period Containers.  *Speed limit 10 mph on site.  *Site opens at 4
pm Friday and will close at 1 pm on Sunday.
Many Activities are Planned to entertain, including;
*A Grand Day of Melees from the mind of Sir Corwin
*A Ffynnon Gath Heavy Weapons Defender Tournament
*A Great Rat/Plague Themed A&S Competition Officiated by Mistress Jessamyn
*Otter Haus will host a Drum Circle/Middle Eastern Dance Competition  on
Saturday Night
*Activities for Children are to include a Scavenger Hunt.
*A Sumptuous Feast will be available in Saturday Evening for those wishing to
indulge in Legendary Ffynnon Gath Dining.

Take best route to Gonzales, take us 90a west towards Seguin, go 4 miles to
2091, turn left and follow to Lakewood Recreation Area
