Salut, Cozyns,

Lyonel aisai.

HE Pendaran asks:

>As I was somewhat inundated with Principality posts, I didn't read all
>of them. However, I am interested in the ideas put forth for heraldry.
>What are the prevailing ideas at the moment? Sorry to ask people to
>recap for me but I really would like to know.

Lions, naturellement, have been the principal charges discussed. Several
versions of gold lions sejant or rampant upon sable , sable semy of mullets
Or, and pean have been broached. Sir Kief suggested a lion's head affronty
erased. Daniel de Lincolia counter-suggested a lion's face (caboshed--no
neck). I personally think the lion's face (sans neck) looks too much like
a door-knocker. Several folks have sugested keeping a pair of sable stars
(of the Ansteorran variety) upon a gold chief or something of the sort.
Aquilanne proferred a mullet of five greater and five lesser point issuant
from base (which, on a sable background would, I suppose be Or).

The lion rampant is aggressively period, but I think we'd have a bitch of a
time avoiding conflicts. The lion's head affronty allows the artists a
certain amount of license with facial expressions.
