Sir Lionel is correct in his assessment that there could be 
difficulties in trying to do the 'lion thing' .  Has anyone out there 
considered the possibility of using a wild boar.  The boar is 
extremely period and quite respectable.  It is a very courageous and 
noble beast.  My own personal belief is that lions (and wolves) tend 
to be overdone in SCA heraldry.
