SR - Naming Conventions

	Hello All,

Ritter Deiterich's post asking about English place names got me
thinking about place names and how they work. I don't by any stretch of
the imagination claim to be an expert on such things, but there are
several place names that basically translate to "land of whoever lives
here". Certainly England, Denmark, Finland and many others are examples
of this.

Has anyone suggested that we try to translate "land of the
southerners" or "south lands" (NOT south park! :) ) or some other such
descriptive name into Occitan or some other medieval language? Any
thoughts on this?
