The BEST news just hit, gang.  I hold, in my hot little hands, the official
word from the society childrens cooridinator, Julleran da Maestre, the final
verdict from the society senechal on BOFFER.

The bottom line:  it's completely and totally up to us as a kingdom how we
wish to handle it.  It can either fall under the marshallate (smile, Kief;
you're on candid kingdom!) or under the senechallate through the minister of
children.  It in no way violates the societys insurance issues and we don't
*have* to have any additional forms for consent so long as mommy and/or
daddy is present.

That's it.

Now, if any of you out there at large have a preference as to whether we
should attempt to increase the amount of paper on Kiefs desk as the Earl
Marshal or Annoras desk as the MoC, just pipe right on up.  To me, since
they are officially *not* weapons, it makes more sense to put it under the
MoC... but that's my arbitrary opinion.  I have already got proposed rules
on a taller-than-this-line/older-than-this-many-years basis complete with
armor and weapon standards that I'll run past TRMs as soon as we can be in
the same place at the same time.

It doesn't *look* like we're gonna need that big petition drive that I was
gearing up for towards the end of last year, but I still know who all of you
were that volounteered to help, so no dodging if it does happen, okay?

So, pending any further red tape foolishness, who wants to hold the first
youth tourney?  I know Baroness Clarissa has been mulling it over for some
time... any others interested?

As a heads-up for parents who want to get going on this early, the sword
construction for kids under 12 will be plain ol small diameter pool noodle
and duct tape.  I think it's safe to say that that will fly no matter what,
but the formula for the older childrens weapons should probably be looked
over by the King, Kief, Countess Annora, and perhaps even Burke as well.
