SR - Southern Champions: Site Comments and Suggested Discussion

I'm wondering about the purpose of the meeting.

Planning events by VERY LARGE COMMITTEE is a lot like swimming in mud. Do we
want everyone to decide the nitty gritty details at this meeting? Or is this
meeting just a yes/no/"what can you guys do" thing?

Instead of a meeting, how 'bout we get this event off the ground in the old
fashioned way...writing to the seneschals of the individual groups, and having
them present the concept to their group and getting feedback? We could put in
the various sub-aspects of the event that can be run by different groups (heavy
tourney, light tourney, A&S, Equestrian, IKAC, Archery, feast, gate, etc etc)
that the groups could put small, informal proposals in on. We can ask for input
on sites...and then later see if the group that's most familiar with the site to
run that aspect of it.

I'm sure that Ivar and I can come up with something that people can say, Yes/No
to, that will run quite well.

Finally, I'm afraid that those who can't come to the meeting will squawk just as
loudly as those excluded from the net conversations. Populous meetings, I
believe, are the way to go.
