SR - meeting at Hero of the Temple / Regional Naming

Greetings;
        A wonderful time was had by all at Hero of the Temple.  The
weather
was great, the crowd boisterous and fun.
        The meeting went off with out a hitch, run by Ly Isobel and
Ivar. 
They covered lots of ground.  The event will probably have a couple
more meetings.  The Autocrats wish to make sure that the first
Southern Regional Champion event is remembered as this event continues
in the history of our Region.  The region does want a Champion*!
(*Champion at this point only denotes winner until/if a new name is
chosen, !denotes more than one champion i.e. each category.) who will
have lots of neat things (possibly like free site or half off, seat at
the high table, free feast.) These were some of the things being
kicked around and are not written in stone.  However with these
really neat thingamabobs comes the responsibility.  Most every one
thought that the champion(s) should teach and represent the region at
the Kingdom level.  There were other ideas,  more than can be written
in a single sitting.  Further updates will follow more consciously by
Isobel and Ivar.  This is only a rough, rough draft summary of items.

        Having gotten my hands on a copy of the Lion's Tale and a link
(thank
you Ivar and Daniel) I am more than happy to go along with the
proposed voting listed.  Each group Seneschal will be getting a packet
of the list and how to vote by either regular mail or e-mail.  There
will be a cut off date.  August 31st will be the last day that mail
can be sent in to be counted.  Duncan and Aehelyan have my
congratulations / condolences for doing the grunt work of counting the
votes and names if they are still inclined to do so (and their choice
of cookies / Daniel gets the Oreos).  If they choose not to do this
tedious task than I will step in.  So the phrase is Please! Please!
Please! will you do the count?  
        At the October Regional event the new name will be officially
announced that we send to Their Majesties and to the Kingdom
Seneschal.  It will take anywhere from 6 months (very optimistic) to 2
years before hearing back on whether or not it is a go.
