SR - ballots results

OK...I've been watching this for quite some time - through two "ballots". Being relatively new to
the area, I've no basis on which to form an opinion on a name. But I do have these questions.:
1. Is there some hidden agenda here that I'm just not getting - why else are time frames so very
tight? Why is there such an artificial urgency being placed on choosing a regional name?
2. If a name is supposed to foster cohesiveness and a sense of place - why does this effort seem to
be counter-productive?.
3. This name business has taken on a life way out of proportion to its actual importance.
Why is it the the on-line SR list is the only place I ever hear about it? It seems that this is the
hobby-horse of a very few people. The regional name is just not something that comes up in
conversation - it seems to be a non-issue.

If, in the future, this region forms a principality, any name it has is likely to stick (no matter
how much you say a new name can be chosen). Let the cohesiveness, the esprit of a regional identity
come first, that will take the greater effort; a good name will naturally follow.
