SR - ballots results

Sosha,

I'm curious. Did you make your announcement about the ballots and their deadline via
email, seneschals' meeting, phone, personal contact, all of the above? Did the incoming
and outgoing Bjornsborg seneschals in fact know that the ballots were coming, or do you
assume/think they knew the ballots were coming? Did you let both incoming and outgoing
seneschals know when you mailed the packets, so that they would know how much time to wait
before contacting you? Were the seneschals to know that you would send the ballots in a
particular time frame that would allow time for corrective action to be taken? Bjornsborg
business meetings occur once per month, and I assume that other groups work on a similar
time table. What are the stories with the other groups? Did they have ballots? Did they
simply miss the deadline? Did they decide not to vote? Do you know?

I'm afraid I must disagree with your assessment of who should have done what. I believe it
was your responsibility as the coordinating person for the voting to be certain that the
seneschals knew that the ballots were coming and to follow up to make sure that the ballots
had been received. Once it was known that the ballots were in the hands of the seneschals,
then it's up to the groups involved to vote or not. I also think you should have checked
with the non-voting groups once the deadline was passed to determine what occurred with
each and what action, if any, should be taken. That way as much of the facts of the
various situations would be known. It may be that some or all of the above was done, and I
just don't know about it. If so, I apologize for belaboring the obvious.
