Given a documented 1500+ history, I'm sure entire books could be
filled with their howling inaccuracies.

However, Aristotle and other Greeks gave several proofs that the Earth
was round (ships hull-down over the horizon, the shadow of the Earth
on the Moon, faith in celestial spheres including the Earth), so an
educated person in the later Middle Ages would have know the Earth to
be a sphere.
