SR - A Name Suggestion for the New Army

  You want scary?  Allow me to submit that....

  While the weather now is mild and our roadsides are blanketed with blue, red and gold beneath the endless turquoise of our sky, summer is a-cumen in.  Unlike our medieval forebears, most of us do not greet it with joy.  All too soon we will find ourselves in a sweltering dun landscape, trapped between the broiling sun and the dry, cracking earth.  The wildflowers will be replaced by cactus, thorns and other spiny growths which shelter naught but vipers, scorpions and other painful, venoumous creatures.   It will be 110 degrees (not exaggerating; it was last year), it will never, EVER rain again and anytime you venture outdoors, something will try to bite, eat, sting, kill or at least severely bother you.  And yet, for some strange reason, we love it, don't we?  It is our home; and I guess even demons must get homesick for Hell sometime.

  Speaking of which, back when the idea of a southern principality was *first* brought up, a bunch of us thought we should just call our homeland what it obviously is, and submitted as a name the Principality of Hel.  (Second "L" dropped due to strong Viking contingency.)  I'm sure you can guess what happened.  Yes, swarms of stinging, biting Heralds, accompanied by a Kingdom officer or two for good measure, descended upon us, inflicting nips and welts that swelled into runic glyths that read "Thou shalt not take the name of an actual place!" and "Or a mythological one!" and even "The PTL Club will declare a crusade against us!!!"  OK, I admit it would have made using church halls somewhat problematic, but the idea had a lot of merit.  

  So, since the army already has arms (those of the groups of which it's comprised) and shouldn't need to register anything, allow me to dredge up, brush off and submit for your approval/denial/outrage/enjoyment as a name for the southern army: 

  The Legions of Hel. (Or Hell.  Whichever.)
