Please read the following and share with all who you may.
This is an invite to all who enjoy the marshaled art of SCA combat. though this is not the focus of the event it is an aspect that I feel will add a great deal to the atmosphere of the whole event.Several Champions activities have been scheduled for the event: Archery, Equestrian, Knife Axe and Spear, Vintning and Brewing with other side attractions such as bochi ball and horse shoe toss for your pleasure. Please read your Black Star for further informatioin.
                                                                  Thank- you
                                                                                          Brian :o)
A tournament of chivalry and love will be held at Raven's Forts Day at the Garden on April 20-21-22 of this year.

Don Zorcon of Lizard Keep and His Excellency Brian du Val have sponsored this test of skill and grace. Prizes will be truly worth the challenge of displaying ones honor and love for their consort.

The chivalric list will consist of the following passes:

1.. Sword and Shield best two out of three.
2.. Barrier Great Sword best two out of three.
3.. Barrier Spear best two out of three.
4.. Sword and buckler (buckler will be provided)
5.. Ladies choice best two out of three.
Two fields one red and one white will have combatants divided equally between them.

After the list a champion of each field will be chosen.

These Champions will lead their field in a melee against the other (best two out of three) and the overall champion will be chosen.

Each combatant will have a favor for their field that they must display in any manor in which they choose.

Prizes of recognition will be awarded for the following:

  Best heraldic display

  Most chivalrous

  Valor

  Tourney Champions per field

  Melee Champion.

All are invited to participate and test their skill. Your level of participation is up to you. High Chivalry is the order of the day and largess will not be spared!

  -------------------------------

The Rapier list will consist of three-person team Melees at the barriers. Each field will have a champion team that will organize their respective fields and will challenge the opposing field.

The display of Skill and Grace will be strongly observed and rewarded.

  So!

Come to the Day at the Garden and enjoy a relaxing spring afternoon watching champions honor their consorts and gaze at the splendor, grace and pageantry of the day.
