[Stargate] Newcomer to the Area (Sort of)

Greetings to the list. I'm a student at Rice University, and this summer, I
became involved in the SCA in Colorado. I loved it so much there, that I'd
hoped to continue when I came back down here. I posted on the newcomer's
list mentioned on the Stargate website a couple months ago, but never got a
response, so I thought I'd try again on the general list. A little bit about
myself: the medieval period has been a long time interest of mine and I am
in fact majoring in medieval studies and religious studies at school,
focusing on the medieval Islamic world. My persona, however, is late
fourteenth century English. While in Colorado, I did a lot of fencing, and
am definitely interested in continuing with that. I also enjoyed making my
own garb and court dancing. I'd love if you could tell me the best way to
get started down here (I'd have just turned up already, but since I'm a poor
college student without a car, transportation is difficult, so I wanted to
wait on some sort of response).
