There are plenty of paper goods already at the house , so there really
should not be in need for more. I will have a cooler full of ice, and a
chilled salmon waiting. ( your welcome Alden.)

Hi All,

I have sent e-mails out to all the newcomers that have contacted me or
attended a meeting or event in the last few months and have invited 10
people.

I have some handouts on "Titles & Forms of Address" that I will be bringing.
Anyone want to bring their "Brass Hats" or other headgear that could be used
to show the newcomers examples of what the "hats" look like?

I will be bringing the following:  1 card table & 5 chairs, table cloth and
a sliced cold ham, 1 package of paper napkins, Hospitaler stuff & some garb
so the newcomers can see what sort of things we wear.

Will we be wearing garb? Or will that make the newcomers feel uncomfortable
as it is not an event?  Will they feel "under dressed"?

What is the earliest time I can arrive at Mea's to help set up?

past couple months, we thought it would be a good idea to have a Stargate
Newcomers Revel.  *Thursday, August 19th at 7pm* at the home of HL Mea
Passavanti, we will have a pot-luck party with the purpose of introducing
our newcomers to some of the "ins and outs" of life in the SCA and Kingdom
of Ansteorra.

Some general topics for open discussion:
- Attending your first even (what you'll need, how to get involved);
- Forms of address (various ranks and dignities);
- Persona development (times, places, clothing, heraldry, names);
- I'm interested in.....Who can I talk to? (making connections).

Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend!  Bring a dish to share and
your beverage of choice.

That's a great idea! Don Corvin and I will be there.

We'll bring gazpacho (a chilled Mediterranean-style vegetable soup) and
fruit salad. I can also bring a 5-gallon cooler of lemonade (need to get rid
of the mix that's in my pantry before it turned into a solid, unusable
block). I haven't seen anyone else respond yet; do we have an estimate on
the number of people that might attend? (I'm wondering whether I should make
a pot of gazpacho or a vat.)

Is anyone bringing disposable bowls/plates and utensils, or should I bring
those as well? What about cups and napkins?

Also, do we need to bring chairs?

Finally, will people be wearing historical clothing (i.e., garb) or modern
(mundane) clothing?

Hi all,

I've only attended one work day thus far at Sir Godwin's house and a meeting
of the Cook's Guild with Gates Edge but I really enjoyed meeting those I
have. I'm not a newcomer to the SCA but I am to the local region. I was
wondering if its possible I could show up to this as well. I also have a
full on newcomer who has yet to make any meetings or gathering but has some
interest that is considering coming if he can.

I would greatly enjoy a chance to meet other people as well. If its possible
would it be ok for us to show up as well.

What I'd be making to bring I'm not sure yet. *laughs* I will have to think
about that.
