[Stargate] Knights of Columbus site

At that size and price, that site migh work well for an event, but is it ideal for Crown?? The kitchen sounds nice but since Crown doesn't usually involve a feast (or any event-organized foodservice, for that matter) we'd be paying for a lot of unused amenities. Also, I browsed the photo album on the hall's website, and the grounds look okay, but the fact that the grounds are practically on top of at least one private residence (possibly more), and the fact that the grounds appear somewhat segmented (reasonable amount of total space, but its split into a baseball field, horseshoes range, etc.) make me worry it wouldn't work well for an outdoor-focused event like Crown. Perhaps after your visit you'll have a better idea of those factors.
If someone's looking for a site for january Crown, why not Lake Houston Park? The site where the 2010 Loch/Stargate "Mayday" event was held? I wasn't involved in running the event so I can't say how pleasant or irritating it was from an autocrat's point of view, but I thought the site was gorgeous. Lots of greenspace, parking didn't seem to be a problem, and it's likely to be significantly cheaper to rent.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Mostly was thinking of crown. But could be for other events.
