Arabella here >>>>>>>>>
If Eleanor needs some personal information on brain trauma....... let them
know I am here........ When I was 23, I also was hit by a moving car.
Fractured my skull (Yes that's what's wrong with me...... so)

There are things they may not be aware of yet........ and the doctors may
not be telling them everything yet. never can tell with brain injuries.
Brain injuries are different for different people.

She probably won't remember anything she is going through now and that's
probably a good thing. Just because she's responding doesn't mean she's all
there. and probably won't be for a couple of days.

I was in ICU 3 days before I said anything cognitive. and was in the
hospital for 4 more for observation. My memory was effected for more than 6
months.. it damaged the area that controls short term memory. (I.e.... I
knew my room mate but didn't know the name of the bird I had acquired a
month before the accident. ) I also took me more than 5 years to piece
together what happened that night but I never remembered the car actually
hitting me.

My mother kept a list of all the people who came to visit. I remembered
none of them. My mother also told me the stories that the witnesses said
about the person who hit me. It was important to me for my recovery
mentally. It was important to me to be able to thank the person who saved
my life. I was given his phone number and called him. Believe it or not he
was a dentist.

It's also not unusual for a brain trauma patient to become very violent....
that happens as the brain is injured and is healing.

Every injury is different.

Please have them call me. 817-467-6959

My prayers are with them in their stressful time. - Been there Done that -
