Greetings Fellow Ansteorrans,

Please allow me to introduce myself.

I am THL Ciard O'Seachnasaigh, newly arrived from Meridies (Baton Rouge).

In Feb. (after 20 years away) I moved back to my childhood home in Mesquite
to care for my Mother. I formerly attended North Texas State and Texas
Woman's Univ. in Denton, where I studied Special Education for the
Physically Handicapped. I also graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge. Everywhere
I minored in History.

It was a great pleasure to meet many fine folk at the Steppes Warlord
Tourney and Steppes Artisian, and at last months populace meeting.

In Meridies I was very active in the Scribes Guild, specializing in original
kingdom scrolls, and Celtic Art, and have already been invited to assist
Ansteorra in the same way.

I am a member of the Order of the Athenor (for Scholars) and served as
founding Dean of Academic Research for the Royal University. I may have met
some of you at Gulf Wars where I ran the R.U.M. Library.

I specialize in Irish Studies and have a library most any university would
envy of dual language editions of most of the Irish annals. I am especially
interested in Irish costume. I am working on a huge project to create a
comparative translation of the Ulster Cycle stories that anyone can study
from the original Irish language. In this endeavor I hope one day to meet
that special someone who will introduce me to the academic or publishing
commmunity.

King John Bearkiller V honored me by choosing me as his Poet Laureate of
Meridies.

Mistress Brigit Olesdottir, former Meridies Kingdom Chiurgeon, and Lady Wife
of Kingdom Seneschal, Master Erik of Telmark, asked me to be her Apprentice,
and has given me permision to retain her green belt until such time as I may
find an Ansteorran Laurel who would to take me in.

I am also a companion of the Order of the Velvet Owl - which I believe is
equal to the Ansteorran Iris of Merit.

If all this sounds a bit much, may I please beg your patience by saying that
"it ain't bragging if you really done it". Those who know me could tell you
that I do not have an overly large opinion of myself, and that I work mostly
behind the scene. I have played in the SCA for 13 years now, and find it
most fulfilling. I will play more with the kingdom once the summer heat has
passed.

I look forward to meeting everyone and am very pleased to see the Scribes
Meeting is being held over on my side of town starting next month.

Yours in Service

Ciard
