ST - 3-Kings

Greetings,

Patric and I will be hauling the Steppes equestrian equipment out to Canton 
for 3-Kings early Saturday morning. Lady Rolanda will be needing help with 
ground crew Saturday afternoon if anyone wants to volunteer.

There will be a procession to open the fighting so this is a great time to 
bring out those green horses (we will be lead lining the "royals").  Also, 
of interest to the archers, we hope to practice mounted archery on a lunge 
line.

On a personal note, Muhani will not be attending 3-Kings or Border Revels. A 
yearling in the barn, where we board, has come down with Strangles (Equine 
Streptococcus). Evidently, the sick filly brought back the infection after 
attending a show two weeks ago. (Children have Mumps - colts and fillies get 
Strangles.)

Don't worry about Muhani. He has no real contact with the sick horse. We 
vaccinated him this summer and he had Strep as a colt. Even if he caught it 
he probably wouldn't have it bad.

However, Patric and I would feel just awful if any of the other Ansteorran 
horses were infected on account of Muhani, so as a courtesy and precaution 
Muhani will not be attending the November events.

Tis the season for many of the contagious illnesses. I feel very fortunate 
that we kept his vaccinations current.
