John why not put an SCA spin on all this trouble translating into a
'dead' language?
Use latin words with modern grammarical rules, so that the meaning is
carried acurately as to what you want said.

while Latin didnt use the modifiers when chisled in stone   we can......

we can spend years discussing the correct translation while your project
is stalled waiting....

i suggest that you look at all our input, then make your best guess as
to what you want on the banner

i suggest:

vivo ad gladio, morti ad sagittandi

which means (more or less) 'live by the sword, die by archery'
