[Steppes] back to work

Well, it was one of three bits of good news: You may have heard by now that
LM won the Joint Strike Fighter contract - it won't affect me since I am
going back to the F-16, but with a little luck I will be able to transition
over to it after EMD is over and full production starts. I got my recall
letter last Tuesday and I am reporting back this morning, but I have a
cushion until the regular paychecks start...

I don't know if you heard, but the Valkyrie was repossessed in September.
It was vouluntary, I basically told them I couldn't cover the payments any
more and they should come and get it. A few weeks ago I got a letter saying
it was to be sold at auction, then I got a letter saying it had been sold at
auction. Finally I got a letter with an invoice and all the information
from the sale - the Valkyrie was sold, my contractual obligation is
fulfilled and my credit report won't take a hit, and I'm getting $2040.00
back because it was sold at auction and it went for a surplus!

Take it easy, later...

Glen

processing back in and returning to work Monday. I'll be going back to my
old department, Technical Publications, and will resume writing tech manuals
for the F-16 - and with a 3% raise from when I left (and I am still trying
to figure out how that happened...). The work load looks good for the
forseeable future. The F-16 has landed a couple of new contracts, so with a
little luck I should be there for a while. And if they announce on Friday
that Lockheed Martin won the Joint Strike Fighter contract, well, anything
could happen then.

their support. Thanks to those who fed me, thanks to those who dragged me
out of the house to do stuff, thanks to those who did stuff for me, thanks
to those who gave me a hand when I was having a hard time, thanks to those
who kept me motivated, and when that didn't work, thanks to those who gave
me a swift boot to the... Well, you know who you are - thank you all again.
