ST - Surgery scheduled

we nurses have a very ill sense of humor at times..
it comes with the territory, our way of dealign with some of
the grim things we see.
My freind, also a nurse, was scheduled for surgery to remove
a tumor growing on her brain.
In this hospital's recent past, a surgeon had removed the wrong
body part (leg)...so many of the patients had taken matters into
thier own hands writing such things and ''not this leg'', or ''wrong
foot' on the appendage that was to remain. <G>
My freind and her husband cut her hair,
and donated it to ''locks of love'' a charity for children to make wigs
for them during thier chemo.
when I walked in the next morning HE had written in black
marking on the top of her head
''this side up!!""   Her surgeion and I laughed and promised to
remember.  I took a photo of her head for posterity.

I do not doubt for a minute that she shall come through with flying colors..
