Please note that half of the event announcement for Fall Court is missing
from the SteppesLetter. All of the competitions and autocrat information
were left out.

Here is the missing information:

• Scandinavian open fire feast
• Baronial mini-court
• The “Draugr Fire,” late into the night, for the telling of period ghost
stories and other bardic pieces (Scandinavian ghost stories and stories from
Norse Mythology will especially be appreciated by Her Excellency.) Largesse
will be for the best stories. Listen for the horns that will herald the
start of this event on Saturday night.
• Target archery (Sunday morning)

COMPETITIONS
• Brewing Competition (sponsored by Lord Jon Rolfsson. All types of alcohol
encouraged.)
• Knife, Axe & Spear Competition
• Best Scandinavian garb
• Gourd Carving Competition sponsored by Ingiriör Thorkelsdöttir (HL
Gabrielle -- “call me Inga”). Bring your own to be carved on site, or
purchase one at the event. We have been told that the Norse used gourds as
lanterns, to light the paths and keep evil spirits away (especially the ones
that cause nasty weather). The lanterns will be ever present guarding us
during the draugr fire.

Site will open at noon on Friday, and close at 3 PM on Sunday.
Site fee: $5, $15 maximum for family. Minors must be accompanied by parent
or legal guardian. They may also attend with a 21-year or older adult with a
signed and notarized Minor Event Waiver Form from the parents.
Feast is $4 person
Site is wet with period containers only.
Merchants and taverns are highly welcome!
Pets are allowed on leash with current written proof of rabies vaccination.

The site is located at 3301 North White Chapel Blvd, Southlake TX. From
Dallas, take your best route to 121 going towards DFW Airport. Turn west on
Hwy 114 (located just north of the airport) to Southlake. The 4th signal
light from the highway is White Chapel Road, turn north (right) and go
approximately 1 ½ miles to blue gate for Camp Burnett Lion’s Club. Turn
right into site. From Fort Worth, take I-35W to 114 and go East to
Southlake and White Chapel Road. Look for the bright yellow SCA signs.
