Greetings, Steppes!

We hope you are all well and happy.  We have enjoyed a rush of events in
the past couple of months, and are looking forward to a bit more
leisurely a pace for a little while.  We want to thank Countess Kayleigh
and Dona Antonia and all the crew heads for putting on a lovely Queen's
Champion tournament for HRM Brita this past weekend.  Congratulations go
to Don Thorland O'Shea for his victory and the honor of serving our
Queen as her Champion.  We also want to heartily congratulate Kayleigh
for making it to the final round, as one of the final three combatants!
No female fighter has made it so far in the Queen's Champion tournament
in Ansteorra before.  Vivat Kayleigh!
Please make plans to attend Lindenwood's Border Wars on February 15th
and 16th at Hawkwoode Faire.  It will be a great weekend, and your last
chance at melee practice before War.  Remember, Her Excellency still
needs two or (preferably) more seige engineers to help her man the
Steppeschilde at Gulf War.  Come out to Border Wars and get authorized
in this fun weapon!
On to Trimaris!  War is coming!  January 31st is the VERY LAST DAY to
get preregistered to attend War.  It is also your last chance to reserve
space for yourself in Steppes' camp.  Get your registration postmarked
by Thursday, Jan. 31, please!  Ansteorra needs every one of you to fight
this year--whether as a combat warrior, an Artisan, or as a Volunteer.
There are lots of ways to show our might--you can help!

We have some disappointing news to share with you all.  Their
Excellencies Elfsea, Galen and Allessandre will be stepping down from
their thrones at Elfsea Spring Faire in April.  They have served Elfsea
admirably, and have been friends and good neighbors to the Steppes .  We
will miss their wise leadership as Baron.  Please join us in wishing
them well in their continuing life in Elfsea and the Central Region.
