We have done this in the past, and it might be prudent to do this again. The 
Seneschal decided to put a deposit on a site in order to have someplace to 
have Artisan. Many of the larger halls book up at least 6 months in advance. 
That is why we have a rolling deposit on Sokol Hall for Twelfth Night. If 
the person who wins the bid has an alternate site reserved, we can always 
cancel our reservation elsewhere. Just food for thought.
