Dance Guild Report:
Greetings from your humble dance teachers.
We are no longer able to meet at the Lake Highlands North Rec Center.
We have moved our Monday night practice to our house at 2801 Hunters
Creek Drive, in Plano, where we also hold a Wednesday performance
practice. Time for both is still 7 to 9 pm, every Monday & Wednesday
night, except legal holidays.
There is a map to our house in this newsletter, and at our website:
http://dancemaster.org. Here are directions: From Dallas: follow
Central Expressway (75) north, exit west on the George Bush Turnpike,
and immediately take the Custer exit. Follow the access road to
Independence, take a right and follow Independence about 1 mile north
to Hunters Creek Drive. Turn right and go about 1/2 block, to 2801 on
the left side of the street. Call 972-758-1258 if you need help finding
us, or if you have questions about the practices.
This is a temporary move until we can find a public space, such as a
rec center, community center, church or library. If anyone can help us
with this search, we would be most grateful.
Otherwise, the dance guild is going smashingly well. We assembled a
performance troupe of 10 dancers to perform two dances at Argent
Anniversary: La Caccia d'Amore & Allegrezza d'Amore. Both are quite
involved and required many, many hours of practice. Thanks to all those
who practiced and performed these dances for all their hard work. Look
for more performances in the future from this fine group.
HL Isabeau had great success coordinating dance at Argent. There were
classes on Friday, and balls on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights.
Friday & Saturday night's balls had live musicians, lead by Master
Avatar of Catsprey. Thanks to him and to all of the musicians who
played for dancing. The live music was extremely good.
We want to give thanks to those who ran the balls: HL Helene & Sabine
ran the "Cardinals & Courtesans" ball on Thursday night. Several
dressed in excellent costumes. Master ihon vinson macfergus ran the AAA
ball on Friday night. We danced many favorites old and new, from the
history of Ansteorra. HL Ariane Lancaster & Lord Morgan Ellise managed
to wedge in a short ball on Saturday night called "Glorious Gloriana"
which featured dances of England.
So, to repeat our main point, we are no longer meeting at the Lake
Highlands North Rec Center. We are meeting in Plano at 2801 Hunters
Creek Drive. Directions are in the newsletter and at
http://dancemaster.org. Time is 7 to 9 pm. Regular practice is Monday
night, performance practice is Wednesday night. We look forward to
dancing with everyone.
In service to our art, our Barony, and our Kingdom,
HL Guillaume de Troyes, HL Isabeau Lallement, and HL Helene Quivrement
