Ughhh.  That really lends credibility to the SCA motto, "We live not as
it was, but as it should have been." (or something like that).  I think
I would have become a vegetarian really quick.  It wouldn't surprise me
to find out that the herbalists back then stuck to eating plantlife and
leaving meats alone.
