[Steppes] Archery Practice 2/22

Alas that I was not able to be there this wonderful shooting day but mine overseer hath decreed that the salt must be mined!

It grieves me to see such a report when I hear that even the frozen northern reaches were able to field half a dozen to send steel through the air whilst others gathered in groups of 20 or more.   Perhaps the days when Steppes Archers routinely practiced and won titles and acclaim have past and other shires and baronies shall dominate the tourneys.  Ah well.  Perhaps the rare shoot next week shall bring out the archers.  I hear that there be magic in the air since the date occurs but once each quad of years.

The weather was glorious for shooting this morning and early afternoon. Why 
so few came to take advantage of the weather to at least enjoy the fresh air 
is beyond me. There was no IKAC shot because the other archers that showed 
up arrived very late. We did get a Royal Round in, at least. My thanks to 
Lady Lete for keeping me company as I waited and wondered. Thanks Carlos and 
Martin for loosing arrows with me.

Unless something outragously unforseen happens between now and tomorrow 
morning, Archery Practice will be held at Eastfield College's Archery range 
at 10 a.m., as scheduled. I am hoping to run an IKAC so that we can get some 
scores turned in.
