Thank you milord for sharing this lore with us. While I am glad to have such
a notable figure lliving just up the road a piece, I must admit that, after
experiencing last years 'Waterlord', I was really hoping for a dry one this
year.

I look forward to hearing more of the tales that surround this obviously
well-thought of Count.

Count Sir Gunthar Jonnson 40th King of Ansteorra having been blessed to have
Countess Sara Penrose at his side during that reign obtained the moniker of
"The Rain King" for the unusual amount of rain that seemed to accompany his
reign.

What is an unusual amount of rain? Well Gunthar being a Gulf Wars King was
forced to agonize with the other Kings at the war on the decision to call a
war 3 Kingdoms had planned for a year for. For you see, many inches (not
sure how many) of rain fell and the temperatures plunged to hover in the 30s
causing great discomfort and posing danger to all. So with heavy hearts the
war was canceled and the warriors sent home to seek safety and security.
Although Gunthar's Champion would win at least one war point for the
Kingdom, a freshly Knighted Sir Alaric Drake

But alas, it would not be there that the tall tale of the Rain King would
end. It continued through-out the reign that many events suffered large but
not dangerous amounts of rain. It would not be till another highly
anticipated event, at the end of May, would the "Rain King's" special tunic
bring about another flood. For the good folks of the Kingdom had gathered
in Canton to see the assembled masses via for perhaps one of the most sought
after titles in the Knowne World, that of Steppes Warlord and also the
Knighting of yet another future King, known by the name of Timo. So after
many hours of good long fighting, and having just been Knighted, Sir Timo
would go on to win his 2nd Warlord title when once more the rain would come.
And boy did it come, and come and come until the ground repelled the water
that fell and it began to pool and then flow and then rise in dangerous
levels. So with heavy hearts once more, His Excellency of the Steppes along
with Gunthar and Sara were forced to postpone the fighting of the Steppes
Light Champion until Artisan of that year.

I am sure if we looked back at his reign, and taking national weather data
for the event site, we would find 4 out of 5 events had some measurable rain
during that fateful reign.

There are many other stories of the legend of Count Sir Gunthar, and most of
them quite embarrassing for him, which is why I relish telling them so much.

Interesting Facts to know about him:

Short, curly haired, stocky man whose seduction look closely resembles that
of an axe murderer.
Fabulous cook and period feast advocate.
Has had 4 squires in his lifetime, none are Knights.
Loves ferrets
has a singing belly button
Can spin shot just about anyone.
eats things that no human could consume save for Australians.

I am sure many other folks who have known him much longer have even more
interesting stories to tell of him. That is just a sample of the legend
that IS Gunthar.
