I made it back to Mesquite just barely ahead of the storm -- didn't want to
do the turns of 75 and LBJ with the idiots in the rain.
This morning found a big branch broken in tree in front yard and found a tiny
baby bird alive. He survived the fall, rain, cold winds, and the cats. He
seems fine.
Ma and I took him to A&B Animal clinic on Garland Rd, near Doctor's Hospital.
Last week we found another young bird and took it to our vet as we have
always done.
He said that now only a few animal clinics can accept wild birds due to the
West Nile Virus. He could no longer keep his crows that he had for 10 years in
his office.
We must have needed this rain badly. I live near Eastfield college and my
rain gauge got 2 3/4 inches last night. Yard soaked it all up. No soggy spots,
no runoff down the alley.
