Well I feel for you man, I lost my football career when the knee was torn to 
shreds, so I know all about slow healing and the frustration that comes with 
it.  The nice thing is, that after the surgery you can come back and work 
off the rust and you should be back to normal pretty quick compared to your 
healing time.

Just make sure you get an aggressive physical therapist who will really push 
you without endangering your healing.
