Glad you guys took the razzing in the spirit in which it was meant -
there are way to many thin skins out there these days.  And do continue
to play the game...

As to rattan swords.  I have made a few rattan sabers and katanas in my
time, and I have a no-dachi I still have not fielded yet.  You do not
need to steam rattan to get the appropriate bend.  The best way to do it
is just soak it in the bathtub for a day then bend it and tie it off
with a rope.  The bend will hold when it has dried, and then you can
finish construction as required.
