Everyone,
If you haven't been to a recent business meeting or populace, the Steppes is
giving fabric gameboard pouches to the Kingdom Crowns at Gulf War. Some of us
picked up the kit bags from Gerita at the December business meeting. You may
have seen some posts about it.

I hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes, but I heard that there are concerns
about getting the project done in time. They are looking at the February
business meeting for a deadline, so if you are working on one or two, you have
a little over a week before they are to be turned in.

If you haven't seen or picked up one of these kits, I'm working on one now, and
they are really fun and very easy to make. Believe me, if I can do it (NOT
that artistically gifted), anyone can do it! My kit came with two 18 inch
squares of fabric, a 9 inch square of white counted stitch cloth to draw the
gameboard on, and a paper copy of a 9 Men's Morris game to trace onto the white
fabric (I think this can be found online). The large squares get cut into
circles, the game gets traced on the white fabric and decorated (drawn,
painted, embroidered or whatever), the white fabric decorated gameboard then
gets sewn onto the pretty brocade circle, the two right sides of the circles
get sewn together, turned right-side out, then an extra seam is sewn to make a
cord tunnel. Voila! It's done. It's a game in a pouch!! The gamepieces will
be added later. I'm painting mine (as you have read) and Lady Katya is
decorating her gameboard with embroidery.

So, please help out the Barony and it's cantons with this project and contact
Gerita for any needed instructions on this. She might be able to give you any
instruction for this without you having to pick up a kit.

YIS,
HL Gabrielle Honoree de Saint Pierre
