[Steppes] OT: Need Assist -- Temp Use of HiSpeed Connection in Plano / North Dallas?

Yes, folx, there are times that being unemployed is more of a bite than others -- I am in need of temporary access to a non-dialup connection in order to retrieve some very useful software tools that the big companies are making available for free *IF* you download them (in particular, Oracle 10g Express Edition has caught my eye).  Unfortunately, these resources are very VERY large to even consider over a dinky 56k modem -- and I even tried, once. Seven hours, incomplete file, too little sleep.  Would have tried a second time with newly acquired download helpers, but apparently Oracle doesn't play that game (and I haven't located mirror servers with what I want / need).

Anyone I might be able to work out a deal with for enough time to download about a CD-equivalent of professional "toys" / training materials?

I'll bring along my external hard drive, or my machine & appropriate media, and burn extra copies, sharpen blades, or whatever...  however, I don't have wireless capability (or a laptop) currently.  (I do have NIC installed for 10/100 Ethernet if that sounds like a better route.)
