A clarification:  Duke Richard's name was spelled more than one way
by people in the days before heraldic registration.  However, once
heraldic registration came along in the early 1970's, his Grace
submitted the name "Richard of Mont Royal, the Short" (registered
January 1973), and spelled it that way from then on, at least in the
papers that are now in the Steppes chronicler's archives (although he
sometimes left off "the Short").
