Heilsa,
Day warm to hot
Sunny with Humidity
Clouds gathering
Drizzle to light Rain
Moisture, Oh Heavenly, Moisture
Falling upon this dry parched earth
Grass and Trees throwing burden
Raising leaves and stems upward
The temperature stayed low
Made the fighting all the more enjoyable
Come the Eve
Darkness with lights in the Sky
To South - City of Carrollton
To the West - assume Coppell
To the Southeast - Garland
To the East - Richardson
And to the North the greatest Light Show
Mother Nature with Lighting in the Night Sky
23 people took part in the fighting, the BBQ, and the Fireworks.
Thanks to Lady Sueko in her assistance with getting
the BBQ. It would have taken much longer to get the
order in and out - plus the double checking to ensure
that I did not missed anything. Vivat to Lady Sueko!
Thanks to Lord Hrafn and his, Lady Elizabeta di Valore della Rosa
and to Lord Eirikr and his, Lady Elinor Salter for the two watermelons.
Future Events -
There is a possible War practice prior to
Gothic Wars in August - still in planning stage
at this time.
Gothic Wars:
Labor Day Weekend
September 2nd through 4th
Sweetwater, Texas
Sun Pavilion raised prior to the rain, then became
A shelter from the Rain.
Thanks to Sir Morgan, Lord Hrafn and Karl
in their assistance in both set-up and tear down.
Please start drinking extra water several days prior to the day of practice.
This is also true of going to an event, be it SCA related or not.
You will have a better time and enjoy yourself more
if you are hydrate before you start your activity.
Energy drinks may give you a lift, but will not carry you as far,
when compared to water and gatorade.
Remember - Pace yourself!
Please bring at least 1 gallon or more of water and gatorade. I
recommend 2 gallons of fluids and snacks to replenish your
energy levels if you are in armor and fighting.
Suggested of items you might wish to bring out:
- cold pickles
- oranges - energy bars - etc...
