[Steppes] Steppes Archery Practice 8/12/07 - follow up

Wow, when they said it would be hot out there today they
really weren't kidding! Much thanks to our handful of archers
whom braved the oppressive heat to attend this Sunday's
  archery practice.

We didn't send a great number of arrows down range today
however the SCA stories told under the shade trees were
  priceless!

Stepping away from the dark side (crossbow) and picking
up period longbow was interesting and actually quite fun
for me. It has been far too long since I've drawn a bow, it's
good to know I haven't lost my touch.

Well maybe the heat won't be so bad next week or at
least we can hope for some kind of a breeze then. There
certainly was very little air moving today! Let's pray our
fighters fare better, good luck all, and thanks again!

  Regards,

  Ironwyrm

going to be hot so dress accordingly and please
