Sun rose from the Horizontal
Humidity There waiting
To Gave its own Battle
Clouds by Time -
Reckoning Eight Bells and some
Rain not soft nor gentle
Hard Fell upon ground soaked
Score and 10 was the call to cover
Whereas 2 score and 10 was the area
Cooling was sought where none Abound -
Humidity was the Order
Ruling Above all others
While Clouds gave way to Sun
Humidity remain all encompassing
Faithful from - Near and Far
Gathered upon Field this day
Two types of Weapons and Styles
Room enough for both
One of Steel and the Other of Grass Tightly Bound
Clouds of gray giving away to dark
Rolled overhead as determine South
Angry indeed was the clouds -
Sound of Drums both in distance and Overhead
Heard by All, with even more than before
Bright at times when sparks struck
All things held its breathe for each Bright Bolt
Was the response, searing upon Eye
For time, Faithful retired in good order
Twice within the allotted time as measured
Finally a wind from East - cooling
Yet a Third combat was held
Coming into its own
Wind as mention before Cooling
While Humidity stoutly defended its lands
Prize All within reach
Humidity broke, but alas so did the Wind
A dual defeat while a Third Stole the March
With the Sun as rule by the King of the Season
Won the race this day - measuring 4 score and 7
All within the Glass - colour of the Vein
Bright and warming, more of April than of July
End this day of Practice with
Both Compacted Grass and Steel of weapon
Once more pack away for another Day
To Test One's might and skill


Next Sunday - 07-15-2007
A Bear Pit Tournament will be held
and the winner will be determine by one's skill
of arms. 4 squares will be erected and to
advance then each fighter must winner two (2)
fights within the square, before advancing to the
next level or square.

Please start drinking extra water several days prior to the day
of practice.

This is also true of going to an event, be it SCA related or not.
You will have a better time and enjoy yourself more
if you are hydrate before you start your activity.

Energy drinks may give you a lift, but will not carry you as far,
when compared to water and gatorade.

Remember - Pace yourself!

Everyone needs to bring water to the park. I would recommend
the following:

Please bring at least 1 gallon or more of water and gatorade
to replenish your energy levels if you are in armor and fighting.
Suggested of items you might wish to bring out:
- cold pickles
- oranges - energy bars - etc...
- Bring Chairs for you to sit upon.
- Sunscreen, a bright sun with some wind and...
- Hats
- etc...

Training involves separate levels of heavy fighting -
Basic level to "Good"
Man-At-Arms
and/or Squire entry level
Centurion level
Tournament level
Combat Archery
