Greetings all,

I shall be unable to attend business meeting tonight so I
am sending this report to our Baroness & Seneschal so one
may read it during the meeting and copying it to the
Steppes list.

We did hold our Steppes archery practices three Sundays
this month excluding 7/26/07 which was canceled due my
being out of town and having no other archery available to
stand in.

Attendance is still low but steady consisting of about four
to twelve archers each week. We haven't had any new faces
this month, however when we do we usually get multiplies.
We do have loaner gear available in good condition, enough
to handle about a half dozen fledgling archers if needed,
and some talented & patient folk willing to help teach
where the pointy end of the arrow goes.

We currently have no children participating in our Baronies
archery practices, we have had inquires but so far none
have turned up. In the past we did set aside the first
Sunday of the month to accommodate children's archery and
would be willing to do so again should we have any
interested parents & kids. Just drop us an email or call
and we'll glad to answer any questions you may have.

We have had some requests to add a static combat archery
target to our regular static archery targets for archery
practice, so I will build a new "Bob" and add it to our
regular targets. We do have a few folks out there whom
have purchased SCA combat legal crossbows & bolts in hope
of getting authorized sometime in the future so we plan to
encourage that dream.

Don't know if any archery is planed for Fallcourt I haven't
spoken with the autocrat, however if desired we'll do our
best to make it so. And the same for any thrown weapons
activities. We are planning a small non-calender activity
for the end of October, a revel for the harvest season. A
"Great Pumpkin Shoot" an afternoon & evening of fun
activities for young & old alike! Watch the list for
details and get you're best pumpkin recipes ready. It will
be a day to celebrate that plump seasonal yellow/orange
gourd!

We are still accepting applications for the office of
Steppes Archery Marshal. So if interested please contact
our Baroness, Seneschal or myself for details. Thanks!

Regards,

HL William Black Dragon called "Ironwyrm"
Interim Archery Marshal of the Steppes
