To all of those Barons and Baronesses; have you ever wondered why tradition
has it that You wear six pearls? It turns out that this is not a
society-wide tradition, rather specific to a subset of the kingdoms [1].
Aside from Ansteorra the Midrealm and its descendents (e.g. Ealdormere) also
observe this tradition.

The immortal Heather Dale explains the significance of the sextet of
spheroids in her poem:

Six Pearls [2]

One pearl for lady
with heart wide and loving
who never denies an embrace

One pearl for the skill
that the whole hall is toasting
accomplishments gone without trace

One pearl like the moon rise
eclipsed by her sunlight
still warm even burdened with care

For one who would carry
the needs of the people
One pearl for the strength of the bear

One pearl for the valor
of one who steps forward
when all others feel it's too much

To show by example
what it means to be noble
One pearl for her labors of love

Sincerely,

Will Meriic
