The first cloak I made was out of robe fleece over 25 years ago. I have
worn it for years and no one has said a thing. I am just now looking at
replacing it. It has been wonderful because it repels water and dirt
fairly well. It also doubles as a wonderful blanket.

One of the mailing lists that I belong to is currently having a
discussion on
how to utilize fleece into cloaks so that you will look period and
still stay
warm. :)
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SCA-Garb/messages and do a search for
either
'cloak pattern' for the last week or 'fleece'. :)
