When is your class? We are going to Gulf War for the first time and
I would love to take it.

I have a piece of taupe that I was actually going to USE for a Bayeux
tapestry project because I like the color, but should I use that
or use white or natural? I would like to do it as an A & S
project and do one of the scenes, maybe of a ship or something.
Not very original I guess. I don't know the Bayeux stitch yet but
I am reading a book about the tapestry (which as you know is
really an embroidery).

I have embroidery and counted cross stitch experience although
I am out of practice. I have done counted cross stitch on linen
before but my eyesight was better then.

I will keep an eye out for inexpensive linen in the colors you are
looking for but right now I don't have any scraps. I do have some
scraps of linen/rayon blend in ivory/natural, however, if you
have any interest in those. I am assuming, however, that it is
just not the same when trying to embroider.
