My deputy Katerine and I are planning three two hour Ministry of Children sessions
for Steppes Warlord and are looking for volunteers! We would like to do stations
and classes with very specific activities for the children this year, especially since we
usually have a good number of children at this event. Activities are geared toward
children aged 5-12; younger children may attend with a parent or guardian.

 Planned times are:  morning session starting 30 min after court for two hours;
afternoon session approximately 3-5 pm on Saturday, and Sunday session
from approximately 10-12 pm (assuming there is no conflict with Court). Children need
to be signed in and out, and picked up promptly after each session. We have been instructed to take
them to the heralds on the Lyst Field if this doesn't happen!!!

We would like for parents who are leaving children with us
in the MOC area to strongly consider helping us out with a volunteer from their household for one of these
sessions (a volunteer can be a teen or friend as well!). Newcomers are encouraged to
volunteer too, and if you can only spare an hour, that's fine. Please contact me if you
know you already know you are going to be at Warlord and can volunteer. A good ratio
is for us to have at least one adult for every 10 children, as is required at Gulf Wars. I
am expecting that we will have 30 to 40 children, especially on Saturday!

At present, in the first session we are planning to have the kids make hobby horses
and pouches, and do some hobby horse races outside, weather permitting. We are
planning on holding some quieter middle eastern-related classes inside the hall for the
second session. We would like to focus on middle eastern literature and costuming
through puppets for the Saturday afternoon session. On Sunday we would like to focus
on middle eastern food and drumming. If anyone is interested in helping us
teach these subjects, please let me know!

Also, we request that children not bring any items with them to the MOC sessions, especially
electronic items and cell phones. Please contact me if you have any questions or would
like to volunteer.
