[Steppes] More fighter gear questions

Greetings,

I've taken some steps to get my gear together, which feels good.  I've
ordered arms, legs, spaulders, gorget, demi-gauntlet, and a
breastplate to go with my sword fittings that are on the way and the
shield that was donated to me.  Nice start!

The only step remaining is some kind of kidney protection -- well, and
a gambeson at some point -- so that leads to my question: can anyone
help me rig up some interim kidney protection until I get my final kit
put together?  I'll wait for responses until after Warlord. ;-)
