[Steppes] Checking In

Nothing for us in the area east of White Rock Lake where we live,
except our rain gauge overflowed after it reached 6 inches. A creek
is in our backyard, but it didn't see as much action as I've seen
before when the water wedged our cast iron yard furniture under the
cyclone fence!

Being in the stairwell was a good idea, as one of the posts said.
When I was a kid, we survived a tornado (that killed 117 people and
wiped out downtown) by staying in the bathroom, my brother and me
under a mattress in the bathtub.

This time, my family was blessedly kept safe. It is wonderful that so
many of us missed having misfortune happen.
