Need something to see to leave your sides aching from one pricelessly
funny scene after another?

If you can see the TMC channels, check out an English movie from
2007, "Assassin in Love." ( Ever hear of "Shakespeare in Love"? "Milo
Shakespeare" is the assassin's chosen alias. "No relation.") It comes
on tonight, Oct. 1, sometime between 6 and 6:30 .

The premise is that the assassin is trying to hide out in a small
village in Wales. As he enters the village, half a dozen men in
tournament garb are running along the road out of town. (Remember the
Masai group that run by Robert Redford and Meryl Streep in "Out of
Africa"?)

On a hill, he buries his gear, but is observed by a teen in town. The
teen is self-training to be a terrorist. The head of a ram he blows
up at that time (a la The Godfather) conks and knocks out the assassin.

Later the kid digs up the gear and determines the assassin is using
the stay there to be a cover. The assassin assumes the job of being
the town's awaited baker, though Milo has never baked before. (The
SCA food community will dissolve at watching what he does to dough.)

Being a small community, of course eventually the whole village knows
he is an assassin, but he does not know they know. Through various
twists, everyone "code talks" to the assassin, aka "The Baker,"
ordering a "chocolate cake" to be delivered to people in the village
they don't like and wish dead. "The Baker" still thinks they really
want chocolate cakes.

The ambitious teen volunteers to be The Baker's assistant, hoping he
can become an "assistant assassin."

A side plot involves Milo's rival in the hierarchy of his job who is
seeking him out to assassinate The Baker. They have a fight with
foils (note the button). Neither would have lasted 10 seconds with
almost anyone in the SCA rapier community! They also try fighting
with poles.

The sex scene with the eligible girl and The Baker on the bakery's
kitchen floor (with the teen passed out drunk against a wall) is only
one of the funniest in the whole hilarious movie. Multiple eggs are
broken, with batter and jam is smeared everywhere.

Ya gotta see this! Someone tell D'aud......
