[Steppes] Archery returns to Steppes!

Dust off that gear, wax those bow  strings, check your arrows and find the rest of your kit.  Tomorrow archery returns to Steppes!  

Come join us at the Westlake Sports Center in Mesquite Texas for our first archery practice in.... well way too long to say!!  

This is a fairly new facility just opening before the end of last year and is still under a bit of construction but shows a lot of promise.  So come join us for our premier archery practice at Mesquite's new archery range.  

The site is located at 601 Gross Road in Mesquite just about a mile east on the right from 635 and the Gross Road exit.  Just turn into the park and follow the road around the soccer fields to the large southern parking lot near the tennis courts.  The archery range is located next to the Pro Shop beyond the tennis courts, just follow the paved path south.  

Nature has blessed us with lower than adverage temperatures this weekend however still prepare for warm weather.  Pop-ups & day pavilions for shade are ok and don't forget your folding chairs.  Ice chests stocked with plenty of fluids to keep yourselves cool and hydrated would also be in order.  Be forewarned it is about 100 yards from the parking lot to the archery range so pack light.  

The range opens at noon and we plan to start our practice as soon as we get setup, settled & signed in.  

Speaking of signed in the City of Mesquite does require those using their archery range to sign a waver (I think most of us are familiar with that practice.).  

Also be advised there is some equipment available at the Pro Shop however it is mostly geared to modern archery so very little if any primitive archery equipment is there.  I do not know if we shall have our loaner equipment available for this practice at this posting.  Hopefully it will arrive on site with items retrived from the storage locker.

We will have four of the eight available lanes reserved for us but as long as no other archers are using those empty lanes we are welcome to use them.  

We do request period dress for our practice for several reasons mainly to help easily identify those within our own group.
